Over the last few years, there has been increasing interest in the literature about Mild Malformation of Cortical Development with Oligodendroglial Hyperplasia and Epilepsy, the latest being a recently described and rare histopathologic entity found in the resected brain tissue of patients with refractory epilepsies. The newly arising science of Magnet Resonance Imaging-based brain volumetry is an already established methodology of great utility and reliability that has a wide range of potential applications in medicine, in general and in human brain science, in particular. We report the case of an epileptic patient with Mild Malformation of Cortical Development with Oligodendroglial Hyperplasia and Epilepsy in whose diagnostic workup Magnet Resonance Imaging-based brain volumetry played an important role.
